Karmelo Anthony Found Guilty in Fatal Stabbing Case Involving Frisco Teen

A jury in Collin County has found Karmelo Anthony guilty in connection with the fatal stabbing of 17-year-old Austin Metcalf, bringing a highly publicized case to a significant turning point.
The incident occurred during a high school track meet in Frisco, Texas, and attracted widespread attention across the country. Prosecutors argued that Anthony intentionally stabbed Metcalf during a confrontation, while the defense maintained that Anthony acted in self-defense.
Throughout the trial, jurors heard testimony from numerous witnesses, including students who were present at the event, law enforcement officials, medical professionals, and individuals called by the defense team.
According to investigators, the two teenagers attended different schools and were not known to each other before the incident. Authorities stated that an argument developed near a team gathering area before the confrontation turned violent.
Metcalf suffered a serious chest injury and was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died.
Medical experts testified that the wound caused catastrophic damage and left little chance of survival. Several student witnesses also described the events leading up to the incident and the moments immediately afterward.
With the guilty verdict now delivered, the case will proceed to the sentencing phase. Anthony could face a lengthy prison sentence, with the final punishment to be determined by the court in the coming proceedings.
