Actor James Handy, best known for his roles in “Jumanji” and “Top Gun: Maverick,” has died at the age of 81 following a tragic incident in Los Angeles.
Authorities say officers responded to a residence after receiving an emergency call and discovered Handy suffering from a serious chest injury. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
A 44-year-old man, identified as the son of Handy’s girlfriend, has been arrested in connection with the case and is facing a murder charge. The investigation remains ongoing.
Throughout a career spanning decades, Handy appeared in numerous films and television series, including “Jumanji,” “Top Gun: Maverick,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” “Cold Case,” and many others.
